E-liquid begins with the main base, vegetable glycerin. We (and most other manufacturers) use certified organic VG—the glycerin doesn’t carry flavor very well, but does produce a lot of vapor. The next ingredient is propylene glycol—this is usually cited by alarmists as being a “main ingredient in antifreeze.” This is incorrect, as they’re willfully confusing it with diethylene glycol, which has actually been found in mass market e-cig products. I absolutely do not add any of that to my liquid because I do not make antifreeze.
Vape Shops In Diggs, VA This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. You did your research, you read this guide, and you picked out, purchased, and assembled your first e cig setup – but now what? This thing feels nothing like a traditional cigarette (even most cig-a-likes feel different than regular cigarettes), and you might be intimidated by its sheer awesomeness – or by the fact that you don’t want to look like an idiot vaping your e cig in public. There is a controversy brewing in the e-cigarette world that centers around the seemingly innocuous topic of buttery flavored e-liquids. While the average person may have never even heard of diacetyl, it’s been on the lips—literally and figuratively—of vapers for the last seven years, and it’s landed at least one high-end e-liquid company in some hot water.
Before vaping shops sprouted up in L.A. and NYC, there were vaping meet-ups. As is the case with many Internet subcultures, Reddit became a hub for sharing tips and tricks. (Sexism in vape shops recently popped up as a topic of conversation.) By 2013, vaping was becoming a very technical hobby, with expensive builds called “box mods” that have multiple pieces, hot metal coils, specialized liquids and batteries.
After Five Pawns published its lab results, the ECTA had to alert members to pull some of the products from the shelves because they contained AP levels above the organization’s limits. Anything with more than 100 micrograms per milliliter of AP can’t be sold by ECTA members, which meant they had to take five Five Pawns liquids had to be taken off the market in Canada, while another three liquids required “disclosure labelling.”
Compare this to a truly negligible success rate for traditional nicotine replacement therapy like the patch and gum—upon which some pharmaceutical companies hang their hats—and it’s easy to see where the opposition comes from. Perhaps this is why the United States Food and Drug Administration is pushing legislation that will hand the reins of our industry over to Big Tobacco—those staunch guardians of public health—while putting companies like mine six feet under.
Believe it or not, but that fact that using an e cig is DIFFERENT than smoking a cigarette helps you disassociate the ritual of smoking with satiating your nicotine cravings. However, there’s no doubt that there is a little bit of a learning curve when you first start vaping, but we’ve got you covered.
Vape culture is having the same growing pains as gaming culture. In both cases, there’s a hardcore community of early adopters who have become intrinsically associated with the technology: For gaming, it’s the basement-dwelling white male nerds; for vaping, it’s the metal-heads with gauged ears and box mods. The hardcore crowd tends to scare away the potential new fans.
